Gather Sleeve Blouse

Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto debuted Y's in 1972 as his initial foray into the world of fashion. For the first few years, the line included only men's-inspired womenswear. Garments were dark, silhouettes were unconventional, and the body was covered rather than exposed. In 1979, this vision was carried out into an accompanying men's collection and lay the groundwork for Yamamoto's most popular label, his eponymous line of avant-garde ready-to-wear.
