Italian designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana first met in 1980 while assisting at the same atelier in Milan. Two years later, they established one of the most well-known fashion houses. Since the debut of Dolce & Gabbana's first full collection in 1986, the designers have won international acclaim for their men's and women's clothing, a style that balances tradition with inner allure. The brand continually entertains a client list that includes Madonna, Nicole Kidman, Scarlett Johansson, and Naomi Campbell, among many other familiar names. Dolce and Gabbana have also opened up boutiques, published a host of fashion books, designed eyewear collections, and in 1994 the duo introduced D&G, a diffusion line featuring more casual elements with clothing that sets trends and finds inspiration in the urban landscape.
