Amsterdam-based designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren met while studying fashion at the Arnhem Academy of Art and Design. After graduation, the duo relocated from the Netherlands to Paris, where they debuted their first collection, Hyeres, in 1993. The collection won three prizes at the Festival International de Mode et de Photographie, and led the duo to explore fashion as an art form further, eventually routing them to show a Haute Couture collection in 1998. In 2000, the designers debuted a ready-to-wear collection, with a menswear lineup added to the brand in 2003. Known for whimsical layers and a penchant for distortion and artful deconstruction, Horsting and Snoeren have become masters in a look that blends couture elements and fantastical detail with everyday essentials.
