Founded in 1998, Yigal Azrouel's eponymous line of womenswear is praised for the use of high-quality fabrics and modern draping. In 2000, Azrouel, who taught himself draping techniques, established his full-service atelier and by 2003 had opened his first boutique in New York's Meatpacking District. In 2004, Azrouel was inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America, and in 2007 he launched a menswear collection alongside a capsule collection of accessories. Azrouel is of French-Moroccan descent and was born and raised in Israel. His inspirations are taken from his extensive travels, art, culture, nature, and New York.
