Seeing the Big Picture with Andrew Andrade

“Andrew

Andrew Andrade isn’t content to rest on his laurels.

In a year where he has already worked with adidas on reimagining MLS jerseys, expanded his roster of noteworthy clients and delved into creative direction, he shows no signs of letting up.

Upon moving to Los Angeles, Andrade spent two years cutting his teeth as a stylist, a period he refers to as “a lifetime”, after which his keen eye led to a holistic role managing creative projects, ultimately allowing him a more satisfying way to express his own unique perspective.

At his Hollywood home, he walked us through an exciting collection of custom clothing pieces he is working on and hinted at an upcoming project that will combine aspects of personal shopping, styling, and branding to allow people to create their own personalized labels.

This merging of creative outlets is indicative of Andrade, who keeps his finger on the pulse of the ever-changing landscapes of branding and fashion in part thanks to his creative family members (one brother is the owner of the iconic store fourtwofour on Fairfax and the other is a rising director and photographer). He’s all too aware of the speed at which our internet-driven world moves and frequently finds himself pivoting to new outlets and sources of inspiration.

Andrade’s nimble but steady approach to projects reflects in his own personal style, which often incorporates a clash of different ideas and genres to form his personal aesthetic.

We met up with Andrade in Hollywood and went through some of his favorite pieces of the season.
