20's Bracelet

New York-based designer Alyssa Norton is known for jewelry and accessories that mix contrasting materials with organic movement. After graduating from Cornell University with a concentration in fine arts and painting, Norton explored jewelry at the Institute of D'Allende in Mexico. For her debut collection, the young designer found inspiration from minimalist artists Dan Flavin and Donald Judd and explored the effects of light on silver and colored Perspex. Her following collections evolved to include experimentations with fabrics, neon plastics, metal, and deconstructed found objects. In 2004, following the official launch of her line, Narcisco Rodriguez commissioned Norton to design pieces for his show. Signatures to her line offer contrasts in shape as well as material, incorporating natural and synthetic forms that incorporate past and present elements.
